Grants and News

2025

SEAMS and the Museo Egizio in Turin (ME) have been awarded in the 4th H2IOSC TNA/NA call! By using Aton, an open source framework developed by ISPC-CNR, already a valued partner of the SEAMS project, we will create an immersive experience that will support the upcoming reinstallation of the votive animal mummies gallery at the ME. The new display will integrate the latest scientific research on these artefacts, with strong emphasis on digital content. Visitors will be able to explore high-resolution 3D data, access hidden information, and engage with advanced search tools designed for both experts and general public. This innovative approach bridges human and digital sciences, opening new ways of understanding, preserving, and sharing  the fascination world of ancient Egyptin votive animal mummies.

2024

In December 2024, SEAMS is awarded ‘Project of the Month’ by CORDIS, the European Commission’s Community Research and Development Information Service.

As primary public repository and portal to disseminate information on all European Union (EU) funded projects, CORDIS elects each month the most valuable research for excellent innovation and impact.

Being featured as the most excellent among such excellent projects, further confirms the distinctive worth of the SEAMS’ achievements accomplished during its first year of action, thanks to the intrepid collaboration of outstanding institutions and specialists experienced in different fields across the world.

In an article, disseminated on its web and social media pages, CORDIS praised the significant innovation of the SEAMS project, in terms of its scope and methodology, as well as the relevant scientific contribution it is already offering to the advancement of the state-of-the-art in the animal mummies field and beyond.
