Jean backpack origin
Created by Tan, a fellow refugee, and gifted to Vincent Doan at Pulau Bidong in 1991
Grey denim backpack made from a pair of jeans donated by a philanthropic organization. The backpack was created by a fellow Vietnamese refugee named Tan at Pulau Bidong Refugee Camp and gifted to Vincent Doan as a token of appreciation for loaning him money when his sister had fallen ill. Vincent Doan was transferred from Pulau Bidong to Sungei Besi Refugee Camp in 1991. Five years after fleeing Vietnam in 1989, he was finally granted asylum and was resettled to the U.S.
