The oil lamp’s place and date of manufacture are unknown. It is described by a family member as a long-held family object (“đồ cổ của gia đình”).
Following the partition of Vietnam after the Geneva Accords, Trần Trúc Minh relocated from North Vietnam to Saigon, bringing the oil lamp with her.
