Description
This model of a refugee boat was gifted to Bruce Nicholl in 1984 by a group of Vietnamese refugees who had interviewed with him for resettlement in the United States while they were at the Pulau Bidong refugee camp in August 1977. The boat is a model of the fishing boat the refugees had used to flee Vietnam the year before. The model is made from pieces of wooden crates originally used to transport vegetables and fruits to the island.
