Bio

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Interdepartmental Archaeology Program in the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at the University of California, Los Angeles, where I conduct research on the Inca Empire. I earned my bachelor’s degree (BA) in archaeology from the University of Durham, and completed my master’s (MPhil) at the University of Cambridge with a focus on the archaeology of the Indigenous Americas.

My doctoral research explores the making and experiencing of sacredness at the heart of the Inca Empire through an interdisciplinary approach centered on place and the senses. I have participated in numerous archaeological research projects covering various cultures and time periods, for which I have carried out fieldwork and worked in archives and museums in England, Italy, Spain, and Peru. Additionally, I have experience working in commercial archaeology or cultural resource management in England.

At UCLA, I am a co-organizer for the Andean Working Group and manage the Andean Lab at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology. I have previously served in the Fowler Museum Student Council and have also contributed to the organization of other interdisciplinary lecture series, conferences, and working groups, including the Indigenous Material and Visual Culture of the Americas Working Group and The Forgotten Canopy: Ecology, Ephemeral Architecture, and Imperialism in the Caribbean, South American, and Transatlantic Worlds program. As a result of my commitment to public engagement and accessibility, I am involved with various digital outreach initiatives for which I create educational content on archaeological and art historical matters in English and Spanish.
